I use aquarium water treatment, some (a lot) use an RV filter, you should have one of those. I also use the Better Bait blue stuff some too but don't see any advantage to it.

Tap water should be fine if you let it set for a few days before using it. The chlorine is what kills them. I also use the blue stuff.

I use the RV filters. And add Finer Shiner also. Salt is always a good idea. It relieves stress and promotes slime growth. Mixing salt! Not table salt. Letting tap water sit for a day or two doesn't always work. The chlorine will evaporate but the government not mandates that they add chloramine also. This takes much longer to evaporate.

I've been using this for years, same bottle too, and it works in my minnow well and helps in the livewell. 3-4 drops in 4-5 gallons of tap water does the trick for me.
It's the concentrate bottle, don't like the non- concentrate as well.

Few caps full of hydrogen peroxide will do the trick per. 20 gal.

Also, when changing the water or taking them from one source to another, a quick temperature change will shock them. A quick PH change will also kill them. They won't die immediately but will over the next few days. If you're using tap water the Better Bait type products are a must. Their gills will not tolerate chlorine. When changing the water, do it slowly so they can acclimate to the temperature and PH.

I use the RV filter from walmart. Place it at the end of the hose and don't add a short hose to it, unless it has plastic fittings.
I use table salt, pool salt, ice cream salt, canning salt, pickling salt and road clearing salt. Read the label, ingredients; salt only, no other additives. I checked the label of Always Save plain salt, salt and yellow prussiate of soda. No clue what that is so I won't be buying it again.
I get my bait saver products from Memphis Net n Twine. Not really any saving from the 2 stores here, but a larger container.
I use lump charcoal in the filter. Wet it down to kill the dust. Place in a bag and break it into small pieces.
I use poly pillow stuffing in the filter. A bag will last a long time. Can be washed and used again.
