Default Open face or bass reels for spider rigging

Using open face now. Thinking of switching. Can see some space advantage but what else.

By open face you mean spinning reels? Bunch of us use baitcasters for spider rigging, easier to use for me. I use spinning reels for pretty much everything else including cranks.

I started with the open face cause they were cheaper. $9-$10. What kind of bait casters

I use nothing but Baitcasters. Much easier to handle fish when having to let out line to land a fish.

Really good reel for the money, these are brand new in the package. Been real happy with mine.

Wish they would offer up some left handed baitcasters.

There was a link to a site that had reels for about $6, buy a bundle and get them cheaper.

You do not really need expensive baitcasters to spider rig with as you are just letting line out and not casting....you also are not reeling much. Be sure and get them with thumb bars so you can easily let line out when bringing in your fish with short line out and long pole. I got some Quantums for 14 bucks apiece at Sportsmansguide.com and I got some Shakespheres at a low price from Grizzly Jig
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
