That's what it is alright. I never would have thunk a fox could make a sound like that. Lol
Grey fox have a very similar sound. They can really wake a guy up, trying to catch a nap before sunrise!
Fox can make some WEIRD sounds and alot of them
Bobcats make some strangest noises but I think the fox cry is spookiest especially when it's super high pitched.

Foxy sound had a grey curled up in the fork of a big oak across from the tree stand I was in several years ago freaky bout fell out ok jumped out of my stand Also sounds like active sonar pinging our ship lol cool

She gets in a lot of my game camera photos. Seen her when she had kits, but never seen any of them with her.
Heard her a number of times early in the morning and she crosses my front yard and drinks from my horses trough.
Years ago I had climbed down from a hunting stand about dark, when my feet hit the ground a bobcat pounced a turkey about to roost right behind my stand, needless to say I didn't stop running till I got to my truck lol
