    Default Gas question

I'm checking the tank for water because it was atleast running before I put gas In last time. If I take the hose off at the bulb and get say a quart of gas out there, will that let me know if there's water in the tank? I know gas sits on top of water and that the gas to the motor comes out of the bottom of the tank so if there's water in the tank, what comes out should be mainly water in theory ? All this sound right?

Lol I used the ball to pump it out. Pumped as quart out into a glass jR and let it set for an hour. No desperation at all so I think it's good to go. Just checking things starting at gas first . Next is to check the fuel filter, then hi from there
