Weight and jigs. Weight keeps them down. Length of line out and speed tends to raise just jigs up in the water column.

When pushing jigs only, I usually just use a Caps and Coleman type rig, 3/8ths oz. weight, and put on my jigs instead of minnow hooks. Some people like the two jigs alone, I am talking about fall, deep water fishing. Which do you prefer and why?

Gnat on top, 1/8 Oz rabbit hair jig on bottom with 1/2 Oz or 3/4 Oz weight in between (depending on wind) from spring til winter. Gnat top and bottom in the winter on the same rig when they want it dead slow. Buy you some 10 lb fluorocarbon line and some weight from grizzly jig and tie you're own.
When power trolling jigs I use capps and Coleman (make mine )with a two oz.egg weight and use southern pro Glow tubes! !!!!! Slow trolling I use a one oz weight on a Capps and Coleman rig with a minner critter and #8 minnow! !!!!!
