Put you a trail camera out it would be fun trying to find out what it is. you can get one with a time laspe mode and set it for the times that you usually hear it out there and find out for sure what it is.

Put some sticky boards out and you will catch whatever it is
Reptile scat has a distinctive liquorish taste. If it doesn't, you can rule out reptiles.
