Had a weird thing happen yesterday. Was pulling cranks with my Terrova, cruise set on 1.7. Motor was running about 4 1/2. Noticed my poles started slacking and the motor was reducing its speed. GPS on remote was showing actual speed climbing. Looked up at my 1197 and it showed I was speeding up also. The two are not linked. I was nearly at a dead stop but both of the gps units were saying that I was going almost 4 mph. This lasted about 30 minutes. Solar flares? Aliens bumped a satellite? What y'all think?

Sounds like they're toast... Send to me for disposal.... That is odd though.
Not sure but I do know when Motor Guide first came out with the wireless footpedal had a friend in a wheel chair that got one so he could strap it to his thigh and use his hand to run it. EVERY time we got to a certain spot up Turkey Creek it would quit, would have to motor up or down the creek for it to start back. Motor Guide was never able to splain it.

Had something similar to that happen to me one day out from the mouth of clear creek. Everything said I was speeding up but my drift socks came up beside the boat. Best I could figure there was some kind of current right through there. Like you said after about 30 minutes and some distance down the lake everything was back to normal.

Was at sardis yesterday...................we had no such problems.
I had something very similar happen a couple of weeks ago on KY Lake. Mine was when the Terrova was in cruise-control and the speed dropped down then the motor essentially went into rabbit. The speed on both my GPS units agreed but didn't agree with the speed on my remote. I had to back the speed all the way down in manual then slowly increase it back up before the cruise-control would engage and not try to run away. This all lasted about 10 minutes then no issues the rest of the day. I carry extra remote batteries and thought about changing it out just in case.
Ran it yesterday for 3 hours with zero issues.
