Lucky that guy ended face up, most recreation PFDs are type III and not designed to turn you face up if you are unconscious.

I had a very good friend who has owned dozens of very fast boats almost have this same thing happen to him, running full tilt in a little chop and came upon wakes of another boat that had gone up the river ahead of him and did not see the wakes. And he is an excellent boat driver, I would think that at a lower speed it would be less dangerous to hit unforeseen wakes than if you were running full tilt, btw, my boat don't go fast enuf to put me in that situation so I don't have to worry about it lol.

Not arguing that point at all Sammy but the boat in the video (which is BS anyway) was not running that hard, the boat and driver in that video made a stupid mistake, no doubt he saw the wakes, heck he crossed the first set and headed across the others. Things can happen quick that's for sure and it pays to use your head, if not comfortable at 40 mph plus speeds then that's cool, heck Goodtime and I hit a chunk in the TOW tourney, hull must have knocked it clear because the motor never hit it, thank goodness.
