After reading the crankbait thread and seeing y'all's post talking about it I decided to give it a try.....I bought a couple used reels from maj and atm and then ordered a dozen or so bandit 300's. I had a couple hrs this morning before my shift so I headed out to Enid to "play" around to see if I could figure out this crank bait thing. I started with only two poles to cut down on the tangles since this was my first trip. I tied on a super chartreuse and orange bandit and zeroed the counter. I began letting line out and when it got to 125 I stopped the reel and put it in the rod holder. I watched it for a minute and saw the tip of my pole vibrating so I moved on to setting the next one out. Then BAM....the rod I had just stuck in the holder 30 seconds prior had a fish on. In a mad dash to grab it I dropped everything I was holding and began reeling. It felt like a good fish but I was still unsure what species it was. As the line got closer to the boat I kept thinking to myself " that was easy". I finally got all the line reeled up and was shocked to see a monster crappie had completely swallowed my bandit. It is probably one of my best crappie catches to date. I was excited and began thinking " I gotta get more poles and reels". I continued fishing and experimented making turns and fishing different depths until it was time to go. Ended my 2 hour trip with the big one and 3 14 inch fish. I still have a ton to learn and look forward to the advice. Thanks to all who've answered my ignorant questions and those that helped me out with the used gear.

Photo-bucket is blocked at work. Anyone able to upload a couple pics for me?
