Default Question about linking lowrance units

Ok, looking to get a new rig. Want to get a hds gen 2 9" for the console and another unit for the bow, probably around 7". Want at least down imaging and sonar. Maps would be a plus, not a must. I think I would like to have two touch units, but not sure as I have always used HB since fishin with my grandfather. Any insight on these units and the setup would be greatly appreciated.

Default Question about linking lowrance units

Think gen 2 does not come in 9". Touch is 7, 9 or 12. Gen 2 is 7, 8 or 10. Think I got that right. Gen 2s require an lss2 for down and side image. Touch 9 or 12 has it built in and could be networked to a smaller gen 2 and piggy back with just an Ethernet cable which is only $50 extra. Not gospel, I stopped reading on them after gen 2 came out. BBG marine is my go to for gospel.

IMO, its Insite for mapping on Grenada and then you have also rans.

I sent Brian a pm for pricing and his thoughts. May just go 9 touch at console and 7 touch at bow and be done and not wish I had gotten the touch a week later....

I could eat a lot of sushi for what these units cost! But what fun is that? Thanks for the info

I am thinking about an Elite 7 chirp with map on the front linked to 12 touch. Any thoughts on how they would work?

Default Question about linking lowrance units

I love my 12" and 9" HDS Touch units. All of the Touch units are Gen-2's. The Structure Scan is built into each unit, but you will have to buy one of them as a combo to get the Structure Scan transducer. You'll also need a Ethernet cable to network the units, and the adapter for the front one to use the transducer in the Terrova. They work similar to a smart phone as far as the touch part. They also offer a WiFi connector and app so you can view your graph on your smart phone while your'e fishing, or you can view AND control your units with a tablet or laptop for a third unit. Coming out soon with a connection for the Link.

You CANNOT use Structure Scan when in Chirp mode.
