Just running stock pistons with new rings. Changed out to better travel valve springs and hardened pushrods. We looked at having it bored and stroked but I want this to be a reliable driver that sounds and looks cool. Eventually will install a roll bar and back seat for removing the top and cruising backroads.
As far as tires I am looking at 35" swamper TSL or LTB on either a 15" or 17" M/T Classic III.
went to a car show four or five years ago and ford had a concept ford bronco on display. Looked awesome, but have not heard anything about them making it.
They had an april fools joke going around about a 3.8L concept diesel bronco, and also a supercharged gas burner, they hurt my feelings. Had me drooling reading about it until I got to the April Fools part. Some of the concept Bronco's are cool, other, not so much. I like the early body styles with a little modern flare added to them. They're tough. I should probably gear it lower, but going to pound the street for the most part, so I will stick with the 3.50s for cruising.

I had a '68 model full cab with the 289 in it. Drove it for about 15 years. I really miss it now.

It sure will, had 411s in mine and it was like using a jake brake when you let off the gas. A set of 350s wouldn't hurt, the low range is really low. Gonna be fun watching the build.
My fishing buddy in Fla has a 64 Bronco(I think that is the year, will have to double check) that he bought in 1967. He has had it stripped to the frame and de-rusted and repainted. Rebuilt motor and tranny, all stock 64. He told me it was one of the only ones I would ever see that did not have the rear wheel wells cut out to accommodate bigger tires. I need to get a picture of it for y'all to see. It looks just like it did in 64.
