A few new fishing Regs.
New Fishing Rules Now In Effect
The MDWFP adopted several new rule changes that became effective on March 26. One of the rules prohibits anglers from using limb lines and set hooks at Lake Washington in Washington County; however, sport fishing trotlines, free floating fishing devices (jugs), and Yo-Yos are still allowed.
Creel limits for ponds at Charles Ray Nix WMA in Panola County follow statewide limits for all fish. In addition, skiers visiting State Fishing Lakes will be allowed to ski on Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day holidays from noon until sunset.
"These new rules were passed by the Commission on Mississippi Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks after the 30-day comment period and became effective 30 days after passage," said Larry Bull, Fisheries Bureau Assistant Director.
