A retired coworker came by and we drove around some, kinda tour the old home town. On the way back to the house we are stopped in traffic. Smoke ahead, so we pull to the side and wait. We are stopped on the right side of the roadway. A grass fire in the middle of I-55. A county mounty is on the left shoulder with his lights blinking. The wind is out of the north, maybe NNE. We can hear the fire truck coming onto the interstate. Ah, they are getting closer. The grass is blazing across from where we are stopped. Nope, they stop on the north end to put out the burnt grass. One guy with the hose, 4 guys watching as the truck moves down the highway. Another car pulls in behind us, so all 6 of us are out talking. The firetruck pulls out, I guess out of water from putting out burnt grass. The blaze is still gong great on the south end. We hear another firetruck coming. This grass blaze is moving about 5 foot per minute. This truck pulls down to where the blaze is, pulls hoses , puts the blaze out then heads back north.
Mary asked Bill if they had a copy of this on Keystone Cops. None of us had our phones out recording this. It could have been a classic.
Sounds like it.
Dang!Glad they got it put out!
