My mother use to make them patties and called them cornbread fritters

Is that the same as Fried Mush ?

I've made them n called them Johnny Cakes.

All of the above. After reading this thread I made a batch with some fried fillets last night. Thanks for reminding me how good they are, whatever you call them. :biggrin
