Raising the big motor will cause less drag and allow you to move a little faster but oftertimes makes it a little harder to steer if there is any wind. What size tm and boat you go with???

When you are using the trolling motor should you raise the big motor? Or does it matter? I had a jet foot before and it did not seem to matter but my TM seemed sluggish on my new boat today. So I started thinking it mite be because of the drg of the big motor.

The 80 should be plenty fine for anything you want except pulling cranks for long periods. Im guessing youve just got a lot of boat to pull around now and it feels strange/new to ya.

Mine tracks better with the big motor down. If my back is to the wind, I will sometimes raise it enough to stop the sloshing noise.
How you like it other than the troller?

Loved he feel of it yesterday, had so much more room to move around and fish. And the speed was nice, my jet topped out at 31 wot, so cruising at 35 was nice.
