Sounds like a neat job. I was an engineer on Norfolk Southern railroad. Like your job, you never knew what you were going to see next.
I have gotten pretty good at both since I retired:Rofl. Got lots of experience running coffee pot in engine rooms over the years on ships. Cooper Bessemer 2000 HP, Fairbanks Morris opposed piston 1750 HP, 8-268 and 8-278 Detroits and a couple of Wakashaw's. Along with some smaller Cats and KT's.
