Default Any of u guys a lawyer? Lol

Me and my fiancé broke up this weekend and she took my dog while I was gone. She was my Christmas present from her 2 years ago and lived with me at my parents for a year until we moved into a house a year ago. Now somewhere along the way she somehow sent the papers off and registered her in her name. I didn't think anything about it bc we were engaged and I thought we would be together forever u know but didn't quite work like that. She never bought one bag of feed, paid one vet bill or anything. She moved out for a month in November and didn't take the dog. Didn't hear from her not one time in that month until one day she called and me being a fool let her back. I guess she took the dog this time bc I was one who wanted to end it. Guess that was her revenge. But what I'm getting at is would I have any legal ground here to try to get my dog? Even tho it's in her name? Wgat if I have witnesses that it was a gift and she left her for a month here? Couldn't that mean something? I really don't have the extra money to be trying to pay a lawyer but if there's any chance I could get my dog I'd sale whatever. That dog is my family. Y'all might think that's funny but she really is and is not replaceable

Do some checking with small claims court. May be able to go through there with out a lawyer. Or look for a legal aid office that uses paralegals. Yes you should be able to get dog back since it was a gift. Dog being registered in her name shouldn't have anything to do with it. Been through 2 divorces, don't be surprised at anything they do.

See a lawyer, first visit is usually free. They can tell you if you have a chance in small claims.

New Years Eve 2009 I came home to dust bunnies, my wife at the time ran off with some guy and took everything I owned, tools, guns, 4 wheeler cleaned out the bank account, thank god we didn't have any children. The only thing they left was my clothes and my jack Russell. Hang in there let me tell you it gets much better. Took a few years to recover but I'm living the dream now.
