Years ago I would work the holidays to pick up a little more income. Lost a bit of sleep to be with family and friends. Most of the days I could have taken off, a regular workday so I would get paid anyway. Overtime pay was a bonus.
Now, Debbie has to work holidays. If we do anything with family and friends it's lose sleep for her. So we do our holiday get togethers early or late since most of the kids have to work holidays too.

I get a phone call from my sister today. She is traveling to E TN to be with her son and family. Our brother calls her earlier telling her that Debbie and I can join them at our stepdad's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Well my brother doesn't call me. My stepdad doesn't call me either.
So while Debbie is sleeping tomorrow I'll be nursing a pup with Pneumonia.

For sure it will. It would save me getting down there and fighting about something.
I can look at Luke and say, Time for a pill? He will jump off the couch and wag his tail, he knows it's cheese time. Yesterday he would sit for it, today he stands up for it, so I know he's feeling better. For 2 days if he laid on the couch more than 4 hours, I would ask if it was time to go outside. He would look at me like saying, Man you crazy. Today he will get down from the couch and stretch, I will stand up and away to the back door he goes. As normal, not a word has to be said about going outside.
2 weeks ago we picked 4 buckets of pecans. I cracked 1 bucket full yesterday. Picking them out will keep me busy all day.

Stepdad called at 11:55 today. I didn't have the heart to talk to him at this late timing. I got 8 pounds of pecan in the freezer. Then went shopping when Debbie went to work.
