I used to have a rat terrier fiest that could sometimes catch a squirrel on the ground and she would quickly kill it....even big fox squirrels. She was the best I ever had. I raised her from a pup and had her for 14 years....I still miss her. I killed a lot of squirrels that she treed for me.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

He's probably got that look on his face from catching sight of what those squirrels are doing on the other side of the tree!

Buddy of mine in college had one that got a holt of squirrel that was knocked out of the tree--and it wasn't dead. That squirrel latched onto the poor things ear.
That dog hated squirrels after that--would tree em but wouldn't go near em when they hit the ground.

Neighbor has some kind of short haired dog that herds his horses. She is death on squirrels. She is so fast she can catch them on the ground. About 2 shakes and they are limp as a dish rag and she is heading back home to show her master. Glad she gets them since the little tree rats wear my pecans out.

Dang dog is a genius. She comes by our house once a day a pecks on the door to see if anyone wants to come out and play or give her a treat. It's pretty amazing to see her put the horses in the barn.
