    Default Drift Sock line length

I searched the site for info on drift sock rope length and found nothing. I have seen folks pulling their socks a long way behind the boat and some about 8 feet back. What is the preferred length of rope do you suggest I use fishing the big four? Thanks

All you need is enough line out to insure the sock fills and helps slow you down.

I made my own just like the factory one. Added a extra line to the blue dump line to retrieve. Like Feelay said about 4 ft and that's plenty.

The harnesses I got from Cabelas are about. 6' long. I add a carabiner to the front of the harness, and a dump cord from that to the rear of the sock.

The harnesses from BPS come with both carabiners and the dump cord, but the floats (which you really don't need) aren't as nice as the Cabelas model.

The ones I got from bass pro are about 6 also. Feelays measuring may be a lil off!
