I use the same set up and rigs I use anywhere else spider rigging. I did pull cranks at Davis but pushing them works better in those small lakes. Trace lake only has three locations where I can catch crappie and one of them is single pole.

I have fished Trace, Tippah, and Davis lakes in north Ms. with little success . I mainly tried to spider rig and thinking about dropping to a 4 lb. line and using 1/32 or 1/64 jigs . for those that have fished these waters what did you use ? Prior to moving here I thought Enid was a small lake !

I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Long lining jigs right off the bottom in the deep water at Davis when the water gets cold is a good tactic for me
Don't worry about your line.Use your electronics...catching fish will be easier once you locate them.I'm fishing a small lake (about 100ac)with jigs and just slaughtering them! Some of my poles have hi-vis 6 lb and some have clear 4 lb,jig color/size does not seem real important but some days white works best.I'm not spider rigged,I'm holding a pole in each hand and watching my 2-d sonar for the schools.......But I have good sonars and know how to use them. The fish are stacked in/over the creek channel. If you don't have sonar find the deepest water in the lake(topo map) and start there.
