+1 on the kind that has the fleece feel on the inside. It is really comfortable and by far my favorite first layer. Under armor stuff is kinda pricey though. Did not know nike made long Jon's.

Both Nike and Under Armour have wicking material inside their cold weather gear. Nike is designed to wick and spread the moisture over a large area so that it dries faster.Being that I have worked for Nike for the past 18 yrs. I have to go with Nike as being the best!

Mostly for me , if I can keep the wind off of me , that is main thing. Wished I could afford a filson wool sweater and filson coat. But I spent to dang much on crankbaits stuff this year. Maybe next.

I rarely need any base clothing to keep warm, but my wife swears by Under Armour's base 4. It wasn't cheap, but it seems to be very well made.
