You are correct, hence me saying superglue it. I've done it in a pinch without having any extra splices

That should work.....I would put some Liquid tape on the connections first though and let dry before doing this....Then it wouldn't hurt anything to liquid tape the ends of the shrink wrap and also the seam where you glued it just for insurance. Don, you can get liquid tape at Harbor Freight and the shrink wrap too.
Guy on the YouTube video did it. I only have. 2 splices anyhow. Liquied lektrical tapes in em now. It'll be fine
Liquid tape is already on there
2 splices only: recut it slide shrink wrap on put the splice in, pull shrink wrap back over, shrink it and be done with it and be done the RIGHT way and you won't be doin it after the next SALTWATER trip!
I like my salt water trips. My boat is a salt water bay boat. It's built for salt water
Was that today ? Knew should have showed up and held his green cup . Dang sorry dd . Couldn't you cut two equal pieces and over lap them from side to side and shrink it . Don't let them bother you dd . Lol
Now you ready!
