    Default Terrova remote question....

Last time I used the terrova, when i deployed it and pressed buttons on the remote, the remote stayed blank, and I could not get it to come on. I finally pushed a button on the foot pedal (mine stays connected), it was the right left turn arrow, which moved the head a little, and then tried the remote, and it turned on. The low battery indicator led light was not on to indicate a low battery. What could have caused this? This morning, I remembered something, and i turned on the remote and the backlight.....the backlight went out and the low battery indicator lit up, but the low battery signal does not come on while operating the trolling motor without a backlight. Could the remote battery be low enough to cause the remote to not come on, even though the low battery indicator does not stay on? Thanks.

Mine did that once. I put a new battery in the remote and it fixed it. Never did it again.

The remote will do wonky things when the remote battery gets low, mine got low, would only stay on when I hit a remote button for a few seconds, then it would not control the TM at all and it was under the remotes control. It kinda of locked out the foot pedal as well and I had to unplug the TM until I could dig out the spare remote battery in the junk compartment on the boat and install it. Lucklily I had the spare battery and a screw driver to get it done or the fishing would have been over for the day. After I changed the battery, all was good.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Duck I'm sure Mnkota dosnt recommend this but mine will do that every once in awhile. I just tap it on my rod holder and will start working. Have to wake it up and I have removed and replaced battery a couple of times.
