    Default Fishfinder Question?

I am wanting to buy a new fishfinder. I want one with a built in gps. My question is, how difficult would it be to use the same fishfinder for both my console/tm unit? Can I just unplug from console and plug into and attach to a bracket on the front?

Yep, just have to buy a set up for the front. Huminbid is easier to do this with than the Elite series stuff is but neither is hard to do.

Are you running 2 ducers or just 1?I have 2 Lowrances. The console is running off the rear ducer and the front mount is running off the trolly ducer mount. Just had to fuse and run a hot wire to the power plug that you can order.I had added a longer wire from my rear ducer that would reach all the way to the front but got tired of plugging and unplugging so I went with 2 sonars. A cheaper 1 on the console and a gps unit up front! It was a pretty simple install either way!l

I reckon I will have to run two. I was concerned about the accuracy of marking waypoints at the console and returning to them using the unit mounted at the front using the trolling motor transducer. I will buy a second unit when I can see further. I am still shopping. I don't know diddly about fishfinders. I am trying to keep it around the $500.00 range.

Better get with Brian on a 788 asap. Deal can't be beat. I am tempted but sure don't need one. However it won't work properly with a us2.

What Gomer said. That 788 sale is the best thing going right now.

By the time you buy the stuff to move the one unit back and forth, you could get a deal on a lesser expensive GPS unit for the front or rear. You can buy a good used older unit in the classified section for about the same. Moving the unit around is a pain!!! It's never where ya want it if ya wind up moving a bunch!!!!

Academy Sports, academy.com will have a grand opening flyer coming out soon for Oct. 11. It maybe worth the wait and drive to Collierville.
