got to the house and was pulling into the yard and got a glimpse of something funny. There was NO back glass on the explorer

The wife hasn't driven all week--and didn't know it. I guess a rock got flung from one of the many gravel trucks running around in the neighborhood lately--that vehicle is a rock magnet

yep--just changed the dern windshield the end of last month. least I get to drive it to work tomorrow instead of the gas hog

Hate to hear that Hobbit. Did you do any investigation to see what pattern if any was noticeable in the broken glass? Lawnmower usually has a fine point of impact...
