I wish I had inherited some of my Dad's patience. Brought back memories of me in the front of this very small aluminum boat with a paddle in one hand and a fly rod in the other. My Dad would just sit there and let me get myself out of all kinds of situations and never make a sound, he'd just smile. Good memories, to say the least..
That's heavy on the heart.
the view is better from the backroads
It brought back memories for me as well.....my Dad has been gone a long time now 29 years.....but I feel like he is in the boat with me everytime I go out.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I wound up with a wet shirt and a stopped up nose after listening to it.

Wows that's a good one. I'm with you there Scott, gotta go change my shirt now. I lost my dad way too early, very suddenly on his birthday 2 years ago. He was only 56 and my 23 years with him wasn't nearly long enough. He was my Captain, my mate, and my best friend. By his wishes he was cremated and I inter my portion of his ashes bit by bit at all our old fishing holes. I have fished alone ever since he passed. I still hear him laughing behind me when I royally cluster up a situation on the water. Sometimes when I land a big one I still spin around to see his smiling face and two big thumbs up before I realize....Sometimes I still think I catch a Glimpse. Gone but not forgotten! I fish alone but never by myself.
Brings back one of my earliest memories of my dad and mom taking me to hardy Arkansas trout fishing. I had a bite soon as I cast my line out and both my parents insisted I was hung to quit reeling. I landed a nice trout, and I still go to hardy nearly every year and fish every time. Takes me back to some good memories of summer vacation with us fishing after travel ball was over.
Nice. I like.
