Could be the battery in your remote is weak. Happened to me like that.

Twice now my terrova has seemed to have developed a mind of its own. Trolling along at 1.7 with autopilot and cruise control on. First time I lost my hat. Tried to stop and turn a slow circle. The motor had a mind of its own and I couldn't get instant control.I succeeded inwrapping 8 lines around the front of the boat and tangling them into a nice little knot. Sunday I was reeling one in and it decided to pirouette and wrap them around the front like a man eating spaghetti wraps it around his fork. I try hitting the buttons but it is too late. 15 minutes, a knife and about 15 dollars worth of suffix later we are fishing again. WhT am I doing wrong???
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang and
a gun the goes bang when it is supposed to go click.

Would guess that you are accidentally bumping the buttons on the remote.

I have had my Terrova take off in another direction at times. Cruising alondg and then it does a turn at 45 or greater. Don't happen often but it has happened. Might be the gubment zooming on me.
the view is better from the backroads
My first remote did almost the same thing, and more.. U probably have one or more faulty switches under the cover. If u took the outer cover off the front and saw how those switches were made and how they worked, u wud c how they cud easily prematurely engage, mine sure did. Then it got to where it was solid engaged. It was foot control till the new one came in.
You know...If you are using the advanced Auto Pilot, which shoots out a line of points to follow, and the wind pushes your boat off of that line, your motor will steer itself back toward the next coordinate point in the path. Sometimes making the boat zig zag.
Happened to me more than once Sunday. Had it around my neck and was hitting the buttons with but of rod when I went to crank one in.
