    Default This would be good


    FRIED CABBAGE WITH BACON AND ONION

    1 lb bacon, finely chopped
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 lbs cabbage, finely diced
    1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon black pepper

    Directions:

    Fry bacon until crisp and well browned.

    Drain and set aside.

    Add chopped onion to the bacon grease and stir until translucent.

    Add cabbage, pepper flakes, salt and pepper, stirring until all cabbage is coated.

    Add the crumbled bacon bits and cover.

    Maj, had this last night for supper, Im not a big cabbage eater but when you throw in the bacon, it made it tolerable LOL

    That's the way I cook it. After eating it this way it is hard to go back to boiled.

    We boil it for New Years Day and since we always put a boston butt in the rotesserie, I add the drippins from it to our Cabbage. WORLD of difference to the taste

    That where you core it, add a stick of butter before you wrap it in foil and put on the grill?

    Can't remember where I saw the recipe. Either here or on the main C.com recipe board.
    Yes, you core the cabbage. Put a stick of butta, crumble some bacon inside, garlic powder and cover with BBQ sauce. Wrap it in foil and cook it on the grill for an hour or so.
