    Default Rollin' south

Headed to Meridian with my oldest boy. He will be playing in the high school baseball all star tournament this week. Starts with a workout for scouts tomorrow.

Should we stop for dinner in Jackson or is there a good eats place in Meridian you guys can suggest? Seafood is our favorite but anything good will do.

Don't know of any true seafood buffet restaurants in Meridian. The Crescent City Grill was good but I hear it is closed now. Weidmann's is top notch but pricey. There is a fish camp in Enterprise and also another resturant there called the bridge st grill. There is also a big seafood buffet at House, Ms, but you gonna need a good map to find it. I think they start serving on thurs. nights. Only other resturants I can think of is the usual Cracker Barrel, Logan's, Olive Garden and such. There is one local Steak house called The Sizzler, it's kinda on the bad side of town but has been there for an eternity and has good steaks. The Hungry Heifer is a quirky little bar/resturant that has everything from buffalo burgers to grilled Feesh dishes, I eat their every so often and it's good. Hope this helps.

Is the fish camp still open in Chunky? Can't remember the dang name of it but it's right on the Chunky River. We used to swim across the river and swing from the rope

Thanks, that's bout what I remember from the only time I've been there. Only need a place for a meal tonight. Boys are in the dorms at MCC rest of the week, meals provided. Have to be there at 8 tomorrow morning and didn't want to get up at 3 am to drive down.

HAD to look and see, according to the net, it's still open. Boyettes Fish camp on Highway 80. Just West of ROCK CITY. Any of you folks ever heard of Rock City? Big Daddy's? Maw Shoemakes? hehe

Some buddies and me got into a big brawl at Big Daddy's in 1987. a bunch of local pulp wood haulers were there and one made a grab at a buddies girlfriend. My bud was about the size of bigblue. He hit the guy so hard he's probably got dain bramage. Anyhow, we had them out numbered pretty good, somebody jumped on a pool table, the lights got knocked out and all he#% broke loose. We did not go back for a long time after that little episode.

I spent a MANY of day and night at Big Daddies. Rock City MAY have been a couple years before your time. Think they closed 85 or 86. You go to east Central Feesh? I was there in 82 and then back from 85-87. Graduated in the drafting program in 87.
