Default I sure liked the idea of running the ducer cable down thru

the base of the trolling motor and putting epoxy there in the little groove to hold it in place Good idea, but now what ???? looks like I may have a bad ducer and guess what, its in place in the little groove held down with EPOXY Has anyone took that cable off to replace the transducer ? If so what is the best procedure for doing this ? Ive been reading that Acetone or paint thinner will soften the epoxy up, but will that hurt the shaft of the TM ? Seems like I cant win for losing LOL

When I put mine on I use super glue gel in a few spots to hold it and that was 2 years ago.

First of all.....I would have tested the ducer before installing it.....Second of all, you do not epoxy the cable in the groove in the shaft.....You use clear silicone caulking.....then you can remove it easy if you have too. What size JADA shirt do you wear ? lol. Good luck with the epoxy but I think the acetone will damage your TM shaft.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

my buddy got a used terrova on his boat and you could see where it had been glued, epoxied or whatever had been done. there were just spots there with half circles where they had pulled the cable loose. Did you just put on a spot or did you put on enough that it has epoxy all the way around the cable. G I like the silicone idea.

I used super glue on mine, a drop every couple inches. Good luck with the epoxy.

Ketones, such as Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) will soften most epoxy products... generally less aggressive to surrounding materials than acetone, but TEST to be sure.

    Wear gloves with MEK
IT soaks through the skin and stays in your body. Bad for your liver
