Grenada Lake Questions

I am taking my family to Grenada lake this afternoon camping. I have decided to leave my boat at home because I know I would spend way more time fishing than with my wife and kids. With that said, I still want to fish with my girls from the bank. Are there many catfish in the lake? Would it be worth it to try to tight line from the bank? We are staying in the north something campground. It doesnt feel right not bringing jig poles but i can sacrifice.

With that said, they are catching catfish in the spillway pretty good but I dont have ANY knowledge of how to fish the spillway.
Yall have fun, nice capground yall are going to. Too much grass under the water to bank fish trying to titeline tho.

Best bet for catfish is gona be the spillway for bank fishing, i'd go to the south side of the spillway down where the old river runs into the outlet channel, not much for the kids to get hung up on there.

That answers my question then about fishing from the bank. If anybody gets bored pulling cranks tomorrow send me a pm or something, I would love to see how that is done. All i have ever done is spider rig.
