Default Off topic.. 4 wheeler help

Need some 4 wheeler mechanic trouble shooting....

    2005 big bear
Has disk brakes on the front.
Last year while riding it the front brakes started tightening up and the handle got tight. They were as tight as they could get. Then they released and the handle is loose. Can't even pump it up. Brakes no longer work at all.
I don't want to start just buying parts.. I'd like to get an idea of where to start. Any ideas???

not a mechanic, but sounds like maybe master cylinder problems, also look at the back wheels and you should find 2 cables running back there, one for the front and one for the back, work the front brake handle and see which one of the cables move, then see if the wing nut is ran out or ran all the way up, that is the manual way of adjusting the brakes. not sure it that will help you or not

Big H.... I wouldn't sell it.. But... If you owned it I wouldn't give you 500 for it!! LOL.
It, smokes like a 52 model ford, has no brakes, plastic is broke in a few places and it just went through an extensive frame reconstruction. We broke the frame overloading it with pigs and people!!' It IS our MRV( meat retrieval vehicle). But.. With all that said ... It's still the most dependable wheeler we got!! LOL

Use scotts . Check the cable ends and see if it pulled loose . I am sure it doesn't have self adjust brakes . Lol good luck they will drive you crazy then you spend money on them . Still cheaper than feeding a horse .

My little boy is always wanting to ride it and he's done got to where he can drive it pretty good, so momma is on me now to get the brakes fixed on it!!! It's a good one for him to ride because regardless of what he does to it .. It won't hurt it!!! LOL
