Grenada sounds good but so does Pickwick
Big H is a party all you think about.
Hmmmm
I'm up for up Pickwick.
A little info for those not familiar with the area...
It's located where the TN, MS, and AL state lines converge, literally in the middle of the lake.
All 3 states have a reciprocal agreement, so those folks will all have valid licenses on the lake.
Accomodations - Hardin county TN has Pickwick Landing State Park Inn, Hampton Inn (Pickwick), Little Andy's Motel ( older & less expensive, but caters to fishermen). JP Colman State Park is in Tishomingo county MS.
Campgrounds in Hardin county TN include the TVA campground below the dam, Pickwick Landing State Park above the dam, which is not actually on the water. MS has the goat island camping area, but it is mostly year round folks. Someone else will have to comment on camping at JP Coleman, I don't usually get down there.
Mississippi license are good from Pickwick Dam up to a little past Waterloo bridge in Alabama and up to the railroad trussel in Bear Creek you can't possibly fish it all in a week and there are motels close by also for the ones that don't want cabins or campers or tents. I think Ted (Billbob prefers RoseTrail Campground on the Alabama side) but there are no cabins over there only at Jp Coleman and at Pickwick Landing State Park but Coleman is sorta in the center of everything.
I wished that Mills creek marina would kick out some of the resort campers to give us space. Nice looking place, but no space.
I looked but can't find the map I found last year. Joel posted what it is. I thing TN, MS and AL share the same space.
Here is a link to the agreement http://www.mdwfp.com/media/50237/ms_...t_pickwick.jpg

I got ya, you was talking bout for you, Wilbur is in Ill. Heck, Nader is in my backyard litterly.[/QUOTE]
We went up I think 3 years ago in July and had a blast. Stayed at Coleman and yeh, we did catch a bunch of fish but the highlight was just the scenery. There was this one cove that alot of boats park at and we pulled right up in the middle, anchored up and just chilled out. Got out and swam some, drank a few cold ones and just had an all around blast
Do a map search from your location to Iuka, MS. That will get you close.
Thanks Joel, for the map.
You are Welcome!
If ya don't camp, and I don't, is there a convenient place to get a room near the proposed camp site?
JP Coleman has cabins and a motel. Also, it's less than 20 miles to the Pickwick State Park Inn (Tennessee) and there are hotels on Hwy 25 just over the TN line. The Yellow Creek ramp is right at the state line.
That's where we stayed when we went up. JP Coleman. Wasn't bad at all and has a nice view of the lake.
Still havent set the date for the "Fall Camp" yet . what do you need now a Poll for the date ? some want it late Sept - early Oct. Dates could be Sept 21 or 28 or Oct 5. I f you want a poll set up for these dates let me know and I will put it up.
Why not wait a week or two until MCC puts their schedule out. That way everyone can make it.
I agree, what's the hurry? It will still be HOT in late September anyway. I'm thinking mid to late October at the earliest for a Fall camp.

10-23 thru 10-26 Is Cabelas Crappie Classic also and I kow some are fishing that also!
October or November is awesome. Wonder who on the bama and tenn boards we could talk to about setting a mutual date ?
I realize there are conflicts with schedules and we all try to be helpful with those that fish tourneys but at some point we have to put matters aside and fend for ourselves.. I'm all for accommodating for tourneys, especially MCC but if we accommodate for tourneys and prefish weeks/weekends we ain't never gonna get anywhere.. Spring Camp was a prime example, the FJ's accommodated for CM and MCC leaving only a Few weekends between Nada, Enid, and Butla tourneys with a camp mixed in middle, personally I think it killed the Butla turnout regardless of high water... When MCC Schedule comes out set a date and roll with it..
There will be other events going on during any event we want to attain.
First to middle Oct. sounds good to me.
Ya just couldn't leave that one alone could ya...Mason it'll be alright someday.
I agree we can not accomadate everything. I think the biggest concern would be MCC. Let them post their schedule and set a camp date. I like mid-late October myself.
October would be great
It is funny that our group has to plan our stuff around everybody else.
