I just moved into my grandpas old house and all of the poles on the porch is rusted and the paint is peeling off. What steps do I need to take to repaint these rusted poles? I'm sure that I just can't paint them without the rusted poles just peeling again so what do I need to do to prep them?

Sounds like a job for GDG to me. I do know you gotta get the rust and old paint off, it'll probably take a hand grinder with a wire brush attachment. Prime then paint.
