My Annual Update!

Howdy folks, long time no see! Alas, I am STILL not in good crappie fishing territory. In fact, I'm not in much of ANY kind of fishing territory. After finishing up an 8 month deployment on USS ENTERPRISE in November, I am now back in the desert (this time on land) in Bahrain. I will be here for a year before returning to Virginia for a at least a few years. I'm about to order a surf rod to use over here, as I am within sight of the water, but at the end of the day they really don't catch much from shore here, just out in boats in the middle of the Persian Gulf.

Seeing as I am here without my family, I don't have much better to do with my little bit of free time than to lurk around fishing forums and get jealous of you guys. With the spawn coming soon (I suspect), I have no doubt there will be no shortage of giant crappie pics to make me drool.

Spent me a Year over there. I'm sure it hasn't improved any since the 70's. I never caught a fish there. If you don't find something like that to do though it won't take long before you will be talking to yourself. Thanks for your service.
