Although I don't believe our 2nd amendment rights should even be considered for debate... I did hear on public radio this morning that he voted this way so that they could have a debate and let the public see exactly who the ones were that are in favor or gun restrictions and possibly weed those out in the next election and that he would vote against ANY restrictions or bans.
I still say I would have said " 2nd amendment right are not open to debate, and no talks to change the constitution will even be considered. To many folks have died for the freedoms we believe in, to all of a sudden decide we don't need or want those freedoms anymore."
