    Default What's the life jacket rule at the big 4 this year?


    Haven't fished Them in a few years.
    Biggest crappie to date is 3 lb 9 oz at grenada in 1988. Still hangs on my wall.

    boat over 16ft, wear it when under power from big moter, under 16ft wear it at all times.

    There are new rules from the COE that supercede MDWFP Regs. You can go to the COE webpage for complete details, but they basically require a PFD to be worn at all times for boats under 16', and worn while underway for boats over 16'. Also anyone in the water outside of an approved swimming area.

    Thanks for the info. Glad I thought to check on it before I went and got a ticket.

    Windstone, check out the link i posted, also MDWFP says that in boats under 16ft throwables are not considered pfds, in 16ft or over they are.
