Does anyone have one of these yet? Do they work on Gen 1 devices??? From what I've seen, your ipad is essentially an hds unit, correct???

Ok, none of you gewbers seem to know. Guess I will reply to my post with what I have found so far. I spoke with lowrance tech support this morning and here's what they told me. Seems it will be available for hds touch units later this month with view only capability, with the ability to control the touch unit coming soon thereafter. It looks as though it will be available for the non touch gen 2 models soon as well. He wasn't able to say if it would ever be available for the gen 1 units.

that would def be a sweet extra to have, the more toys the better. Only I cant afford an iPad, or a touch unit!

Fishing is getting wayyyyy too hi tech. When I was growing up, my dad and I caught ten times as much fish fishing grenada and enid as we do today...and all we had was a shakespeare trolling motor with about a 2 inch prop, a paddle to help out, and one of those round depth flashers, lol. And, yes.....one jig pole each, lol.
