No duct tape. Some screwed in clamps. I did lectric tape the wires together in a couple spots though. When I rewired the TM and the batteries I used wire connectors, then coated with dielectric grease n lots of liquid lectric tape to seal them

I have to rip out 80% of the wiring on my glass boat for the rebuild. Not gonna be fun, but I need to change out the impellor pretty bad, she was gettin weak when I parked her. Glad ya got her fixed up Don.
MO, It's real easy. Few bolts on the motor, then drop the lower unit and about 4 bolts there

Have you checked and made sure it goes into gear ok ? forward & reverse with the motor running ? I know on some older smaller motors it was easy to get to the water pump and put it all back together but if the shifter linkage slipped out it was a Booger to get that back in !!! So make sure you check that before you head to the lake.
