JP Coleman trip

I'm staying at JP Coleman till wed. Spending spring break with wife and kids. We are fishing around the boat dock and only got 1 12 inch crappie today. Fish are there just got lock jaw. We used our portable sonar and they are between 7 and 11 ft in 17 ft of water over brush tops. Only got to fish about 2 hours today but we are going to try them again tomorrow. We caught 28 good ones here same time last year but we didn't have to deal with a cold front like we had last night. We took the water temp at the dock when we got here last night and it was 53. After the rain today it was 47. Day 2 report to come.

Yep we did good last year but the weather was much better. Maybe they will turn on before we leave but even if we don't catch much this is such a pretty place it want matter. Had grilled burgers on open grill and kids just did s'mores. I'm just glad to get out of the house for a while. I ll post more pics tomorrow.

If you want to show the kids a good time go back for a day or so next month when the bream are bedding. Lots of action!

It's sho beautiful up there man. That's where we stayed a couple year back for a week. We will be back one day soon for a week of chillin
