Are we gonna get up and jog a mile or two before we go feeshn'?
Sammy, I quit smoking 4 yrs. ago using those Chantrix pills. You keep smoking while you take them but they are coating a receptor in the brain that nicotine is absorbed through so even though you are still smoking you are not absorbing what is making you crave another cig. After a short while you just decide the day you will stop and you do.I did not suffer any cravings to ever smoke again. As a test, I went and bought me 5 really good cigars and smoked 1 each day for a week and when I finished the last one I never had the craving to smoke again. Just a terrible taste in my mouth from all that smoke. i'm around lots of folks that smoke and it don't bother me at all.As for getting out and running or walking everyday. You don't have to diet as much and you can pretty much eat anything you want cause your motabolism speeds up and will burn the extra calories you intake. The older you get the longer you want to live and the more you will do to stay healthier. So you can catch as many crappies as humanly possible before that final day arrives.Good luck in your quest to quit smoking and your wifes quest to look finer to herself and others meaning you.As far as a diet, I reserve 1 day a week to eat anything that I darn well want. I just try to limit carbos, sugars, fried food as much as possible and I've managed to lose 15 lbs. so far. I feel a lots better! Hang in there Feesh!
Keep it up. Gave up drinking 10 years ago, not for health reasons - just wasn't good at managing it. Gave up smoking the weekly cigar after having bypass surgery 3 years ago. Have to watch the diet for the same reason and am really struggling with that. None of those temptations is worth missing out on the joy of healthy time with the family and happy times on the water. Good luck in your efforts.
I've lost 100lbs in the last year, but I'm still smoking. Quitting is my next project!!!! Congrats and good luck with the healthy living.
