The guy ties a beautiful jig without a doubt. And they are durable also. I had some gnats on my trolling poles this fall that made 4 or 5 trips to nader. would just cut em loose and retie em every so often.

Donnie makes some top-notch jigs and gnats. One jig tier can look at another's work and tell.

Hmmm.... Better run out to the mailbox right now. I am waiting for a new shipment of the "glo-gnats". Time to start getting these things rigged up for this weekend. Spring break is next week, and I might just fish every day.

What are these glo-gnats you speak of?

While on the subject of Donnie's gnats, has anybody had a chance to fish both those tied on jig hooks and those tied on the straight aberdeen hooks? I'm not so interested in the sickle vs round bend aspect, but the straight minnow hook eye vs the bent jighead eye. Anyone seen any difference in how they ride in the water and if the fish prefer one or the other?
Thanks dad for teaching me to love crappie fishing!!
