    Default Sunk boat

Beach point ramp on Sunday. Talked to a guide who dang near sunk his boat trying to help. If the wind is out of the north don't put in at beach point!!

Are you sure you have your ramp and wind direction correct? A North wind at Beach Point would be protected. A South wind would be a nightmare.

Hate to hear someone had trouble and hope everyone is alrite.
Its a hard decision but sometimes you shouldnt put yourself in harms way. Made that decision last fall on Nader, call the COE office and let them handle it. They had way more boat than I did and the conditions were bad enuff I didnt think I could get to em without putting my life in danger, with the help of the COE we all made it home safe and sound.

I was told after it was over that if I had not reached them that the next step was to call the Sheriff's office.

no doubt. we tried to get COE out when yikes got stuck they basically said no way--don't want to tear up the boat--that just raised a big question as to what if it were a life threatening emergency--what would they do? Hope to never have to find out really

Our group is pretty good, had a lady ranger get her ankle broke last year trying to help some folks. Hate to hear that is the response at Sardis, kinda scary.

East or NE wind is bad on that ramp. Had to pull a buddy off the rocks early Saturday morning. Needless to say he had a little extra water in his boat to start the day by the time we got him into water where he could motor. Dang wind!!

Was a NE wind blowing into the ramp. Saw lots of gewbers using that ramp. Weather man was dead on about it too. Guess some folks don't know any better.
