Done this'un before, ain't you DD?
Done it a few times lol. Yeh, powder paint. Out it under the flame of my gas stove for 6-8 seconds, then bake at 325 for a half hour. If you leave it on the burner to get the paint to stick to long, you'll get to much powder on them. When that happens you get a football looking head on the cure
Nice jigs Don!Must be some inside info on the color they gonna bite!
I ain't sayin LOL
Well it's your fault . I saw this yesterday and i had made some monday while i was off . So i set down last night and painted some myself . I did some with lighter bottoms alike a fish would have . Reckon it will work ? Just something to do . Lol got lots of orange .
I've tried that but haven't had much luck with the 2 tones. There's never a clean line between the 2 colors.
Nice looking jigs Don.
I have a gas stove and just turn the burner on and holding them by the hook, stick them in the flame for a few seconds, then dip into the powder. Make sure and tap off the excess and don't hold them on the flame to long or you'll end up with coneheaded jigs when you cure them. BTW, You can use a cig lighter but sometimes soot from the lighter gets on them and discolors them abit.
I use a lighter , one of those long ones . Don't hold them in the flame too long or they will melt the heads . I did some pink and chartruese like the electric chicken , pink and white , orange and white orangs and chartruese , tried some orange and yellow they didn't do too good . I was afraid they would just blend together but they didn't . I didn't cook my that long or that hot in the oven . I watched these because of the mix and when they smoothed out and shiny i took them out . By no way am i an expert but i got this info from a couple or three . Keep the eyes clean before you bake them . After they bake there a pain to clean out . I learn that one the hard way . Lol
