Default Free Crappie Masters Tournament Entry

Paul Alpers and Slab are working together to offer us an opportunity to fish the CM Tournament at Grenada, Apr 5th and 6th. This offer for the free Crappie Masters Entry is for newbies only. The idea is to promote the Crappie Masters to attract new participants. So just like signing up for new phone service or cable service, this offer only applies to new customers "so to speak".

Even though it excludes those who have fished in a Crappie Masters Tourmanent before, it's a great opportunity for those that have not.

We will sell raffel tickets at each of the regular C.C FJ Tournaments preceeding the CM event (Jan 19th at Chotard, Feb 23rd at Washington, and Mar 16th at Sardis). Tickets are $10.00 each and you may purchase one ticket for each FJ fished, that includes the 2012 and 2013 seasons. All proceeds will go to helping the FJ Series pay for permits and fees. The drawing for the free entry will be after the weigh-in at the Sardis FJ, Mar 16.

Many thanks to Paul and Ed for setting this up.

Question. As I read that, it first sounded like any person who has never fished a Cm tourney will get to fish it for free. Then later on you talk about raffle tickets and a drawing for free entry fee. You know I get confused easily so could ya explain abit more? Is it free or are we having a raffle to help pay for a drawn name?

Going to sell raffle tickets for $10.00 each and draw the winner at the Sardis FJ.

I guess you can say it's kinda free. You have to pay for the raffle ticket. But the funds generated for the raffle tickets will remain with the C.C FJ Tournament to help with your expenses. The CM entry is free to your club, but the club will charge $10 a raffle ticket to help generate funds for the club. Make sense?

And don't forget, you can only buy one raffle ticket for each fruit jar fished. If you fished 4 of them, you can only buy up to 4 tickets.

But also realize that you can't have already fished a CM. The idea is to introduce newbies to the CM. So it's likely there won't be all that many raffle tickets sold.

So if you buy a raffle ticket, you automatically get free entry into the CM tourney if you've never entered one before? I recon you just keep the stub and turn it into the CM bunch when you register? Just trying to make sure I got all the details. I've never fished one of their tourneys and MAY fish this one.

    Rees got it.

There's a raffle drawing and the winner gets the free entry. Like I said, there might not be that many raffle tickets sold so you'll definitely have a good chance to win. All the proceeds from selling the raffle tickets goes to the Fruit Jars. And a newbie gets a taste of the Crappie Masters. It's win/win situation.

Using raffle tickets was the only way we figured we could randomly select a winner for the free entry. And selling them got the club a little extra money.

One more point. This is a Crappie.com sponsored prize, so raffle ticket purchases are limited to Crappie.com members.

FYI, Jared (Jigging15) just did this in MO, and it worked out great. He says roughly 5 teams entered the raffle entering 18 raffle tickets and one of those 5 teams won (obviously). Other teams did not enter because they had participated in a CM before. So it worked out exactly like planned. A CM newbie gets to check out a CM tournament for the price of a raffle ticket, and the club got a little monetary support to help run the club events next year.

Jared has a nice summary of the year posted, I promoted it to an article on the home page. He;s going to post about the CM winner shortly.
