Hate that. Since the end of 2010 I have read of a lot of drownings down there. Why is there so many compared to the others. Heck even if I wanted to fish it my wife has told me no way

It's a bad deal no doubt. There's some kinda accident every year on Barnett. Although most seem to happen up the river. Over the past few years they have added several no wake zones. Sad it took accidents to get them there but that's the way it works. There's a lot of water skiers up the river, sandbar drinkers, etc, and when you add that to very little enforcement, statistics are what you get. Far as the rest of the lake. It is shallow. Everyone needs to be familiar with it. It don't take much error in a lot of places to make the day go bad. Then on the other hand, just because your in 20 FOW, don't mean you're all clear. There's 20-24' flooded timber. By the time you see the tops.. When the lake is full .. It could be to late.. I personally stay away from the upper river when all the traffic is there. It just makes more sense to me not to chance it. Me personally would like to see more boating enforcement on Barnett. Especially the 43 bridge!! Even though I hardly ever fish around there, it still sucks to meet a boat going 70MPH at the bridge.
