You might want to go to the trolling motor and electronics page and ask HumminbirdGreg how well the see through ducer works on aluminum hulls.

Got that aluminum boat, and now I need to install my Unit on there. Was thinking about a thru the hull(under) ducer mount, just to be able to use while motoring and just hook it up at the bow so I could still use it while fishing. What are yalls thoughts on this ducer? Any input is welcome. XPTH 9 DI T

That's not a see through transducer, it's a drill a hole in
Bottom of the boat and stick it through ducer,
witch I wouldn't do on a tin boat.
That's my 2 cents.
Agree with Tush, those are designed more for larger salt water type boats that have thick hulls. Your aluminum is going to be to thin.
1 flex created by hole will cause hull to crack
2- you will never be able to keep it sealed because of same flex.
Get regular ducer and one of those spring loaded flip up brackets.

Bump it on a stump and break it off and sink the boat
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Yea G that was my main concern, and the flexing def makes sense. Guess maybe the metal transom mount will be the way to go
Mo, pm Maachuu. When he first got his boat he tried 2-3 different brackets to mount ducer. He may still have something.

I"ve got to buy the ducer as well as the mount. My old bracket broke and before I got the boat stopped the outboard had cut it off... So may just order one and start back from square one... I think I mounted it too low on the last boat, may need to get someone who's done it before to watch over me
