Okatibbee is higher than its been in well over a year. They can't let much out due to flooding down stream.

Why not hold the water as long as possible and let out the least amount you have to? Throw the old manuals out the door. Stay off a dought in the summer. That would make sense.

Not good for the ones of us that lives on the back sides of these lakes, the rule curve is in place for a reason and they WILL do what they can to keep it on the curve. I have long since learned to not gripe or get upset about it, it is what it is. Key is to learn the curve and learn to fish aound it cause its gonna be a factor. I personally commend the COE, they take alot of flack about this but when we have a flood and they have done their jobs it really helps out down stream torwad the flat lands where it floods really quick.
Water never reached, the whole year, where I like to spring fish at, werent the COE fault but just a lack of rain.

It's about saving lives and property... These lakes were put in place to do this. Just so happens fishing is a great bi-product of these lakes. It's amazing to me how many people don't understand the big picture of the reason these lakes were built.
