I can attest to the flu being here. I woke up December 29 with high fever and couldn't get in to see doctor to get tamiflu or other flu meds. Needless to say, I was down for almost two weeks. Had fever for 9 days, hurt all over and to top it off...I ended up with secondary sinus and ear infections. Two shots later and antibiotics, I am feel like I am among the living again. I did get flu vaccine earlier this year and I would hate to think how much worse I would have felt if I hadn't.

If you do come down with the flu...stay at home and away from other people until you are fever free.

I have worked in the medical field for over 20 years and this is the earliest flu has begun in a very long time and there are 3 different strains going around this year. Two of the strains are mild to moderate and the flu vaccine is about 65-70% effective for those, but the other strain is very serious and makes you very sick with high fever 102-104F, severe chills, joint and muscle pain.

To all of you who haven't taken the flu shot.......GET ONE!!

Gewbers! Flu is a virus....incurable. Complete waste of time to go to hospital. Treat symptoms with OTC meds, drink fluids and stay in bed!
